DysportWhat is Dysport?
Prescription Dysport is an injection used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults less than 65 years of age.
Dysport’s purified formulation has been shown to deliver temporary improvements in moderate-to-severe frown lines, even with repeat treatments. The effect of repeat treatment with Dysport may be comparable to your first use.*
*In clinical trials, the efficacy of Dysport was studied in a total of 376 patients and was demonstrated with up to 4 repeated treatments. The safety of Dysport has been studied in up to 12 repeated treatments.
How does Dysport work?
Just one injection of Dysport into each of five points between and above the eyebrows stops the signal from the nerve to the muscles, ultimately resulting in a reduction of muscle activity and temporarily preventing contraction of the muscles responsible for frown lines.
The untreated facial muscles still contract normally, allowing you to freely show facial expressions, such as smiling, in untreated areas.
You should not be treated with Dysport more frequently than every 90 days.
JuvedermWhat is Juvederm?
Juvederm contains a naturally-occurring sugar that binds to water—hyaluronic acid. As the acid attracts water, it “plumps up” the skin, filling and smoothing out any surface wrinkles. It replaces the cushion of fatty tissue that we lose as we age and as our skin becomes damaged by the sun’s ultraviolet light.
How does Juvederm work?
As you age, your skin loses some of its hyaluronic acid, a process that is sped up if you’ve spent a lot of time in the sun. Juvederm is a smooth, injectable gel that restores the skin’s volume and smooths away facial wrinkles and folds—including those around the mouth and nose and on the forehead.
Most treatment sessions take only about 15 minutes. Juvederm is injected into the treatment area with an extremely fine needle. Discomfort is usually minimal, and the doctor may numb your skin with a topical anesthetic beforehand. Juvederm contains no allergy-causing, animal-derived ingredients and is entirely biodegradable.
You will see the results of dermal fillers immediately. Fillers typically last between 9 and 18 months.
