At Prolean, we want to give you the most accurate idea of what’s going on with your body.

There’s more happening than just expanding waistlines! Often, hormone levels are overlooked, but they play a major part in your ability to lose weight! Each of our weight loss programs includes extensive lab tests so that our doctor can give informed recommendations about your health.

Genesis Labs

The Genesis program includes a standard chemical panel that tests the following:

  • Fasting Insulin – Diagnose insulin resistance and type II diabetes
  • Glucose – Check for pre-diabetes and  diabetes
  • Urea Nitrogen (BUN) – Measure kidney function
  • Creatinine – Measure how well kidneys filter
  • Uric Acid – Determine how well your body produces and removes uric acid
  • Sodium – Measure amount of sodium and electrolytes in the body
  • Potassium – Tests the amount of potassium in the bloodstream to move nutrients and waste in and out of cells
  • Chloride – Diagnose hyper- or hypochloremia or dehydration
  • Carbon Dioxide – Measure the amount of bicarbonate in the bloodstream
  • Total Protein – Determine if albumin or globulin levels in the blood are too high
  • Albumin – Test how well the body absorbs protein 
  • Globulin – Test how well the body absorbs protein 
  • Cholesterol – Indicates the number of lipids (fats) in your blood
  • Triglyceride – Determine the risk of coronary artery disease
  • Calcium – Screen for, diagnose, and monitor a range of conditions relating to the bones, heart, nerves, kidneys, and teeth, as well as parathyroid disorder, malabsorption, or an overactive thyroid
  • Inorganic Phosphorus – Identify potential liver disease or vitamin D deficiency
  • Alkaline Phosphatase – Test for liver, gallbladder, or bone issues
  • GGT (gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase) – Indicate liver damage
  • ALT (alanine aminotransferase) – Screen for liver disease
  • AST (aspartate aminotransferase) – Screen for liver disease
  • LDH (lactate dehydrogenase) – Measure to check for tissue damage
  • Bilirubin – Determines how well red blood cells are broken down

The Genesis lab also includes the following calculations:

  • BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen)/Creatinine Ratio –  Indicator of blood flow to kidneys
  • Anion Gap – Provides information about which particles are required to neutralize blood
  • Osmolality – Measures sodium ratios in the bloodstream
  • Alb/Glob Ratio – Determine rate of globulin production
  • eGFR (estimated glomerular filtration rate) – Indicate how well kidneys are working

 

Elite Labs

The Elite program includes all tests in the Genesis lab, with a few additions that make all the difference. These tests relate directly to your ability to gain and lose weight, and are extremely influential to your weight loss journey!

  • TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) – Check for thyroid gland problems
  • Free T3 (triiodothyronine) – Diagnose hyperthyroidism
  • Free T4 (thyroxine) –  Diagnose hyper- and hypo-thyroidism
  • CBC (complete blood count) – Evaluate overall health
  • HDL (high-density lipoprotein) – Measures particles that remove bad cholesterol from the bloodstream
  • Hemoglobin A1C (glycated hemoglobin) – Identify plasma concentration
  • DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) – Measure the production of androgens and estrogens in the adrenal gland
  • Cortisol – Determine metabolism regulation. (Cortisol is a steroid caused by inflammation that makes the body store excess belly fat.)
  • CRP (C-reactive protein) – Indicate presence of inflammtion
  • Vitamin D – Indicate the proper amount of vitamin D for bone health
