You may be surprised to learn that even small movements can help with keeping your body strong and healthy. Unfortunately, many of us tend to lead a sedentary lifestyle and even small movements may be a bit of a rarity. By following these three simple steps, you can easily get more movement into your regular routine, thereby taking the first steps toward sculpting a thinner, stronger and healthier you!

Step #1: Take a Stand

If your job or your general lifestyle involves a lot of sitting, make a conscious effort to get up and stand every thirty minutes to get your blood flowing. To get more exercise into your life, try taking a short walk every hour throughout your day, even if it is just walking across the office to hand deliver a memo rather than send it by email. 

Step #2: Make Good Use of Down Time

You can get in some more movement while still enjoying your favorite shows and not missing a thing. Before turning on the television, sit up and down ten times. Then, during commercial breaks, for example, get on the floor and hold a plank for 30 seconds followed by 30 bicycle crunches, 30 regular crunches and 30 reverse crunches. You will love the way it makes you feel as your body grows stronger!

Step #3: Set a Date

Finally, you can get more movement in your life by making a date with either yourself or a friend to go on a daily walk. First thing in the morning, during your lunch break or after dinner are all good times to head outside and take a little stroll. You can walk around your block, do some window shopping at the mall, take a stroll through the neighborhood park or any combination of other things. The fresh air will certainly boost your mood and your body will thank you for the added physical activity.
