It is therefore recommended for individuals from all age groups and populations to supplement their diets with Vitamin D in order to reduce their risk for severe outcomes if infected with COVID-19.
Allow for adequate sunlight exposure (20-30 minutes of unprotected sun exposure, several times per week) is also recommended as an additional way to get Vitamin D in order to maximize the protective effects against COVID-19 and its related intensive care hospitalization and mortality. Therefore, it is vital that individuals take precautionary measures such as supplementing their diets with Vitamin D and getting enough sun exposure in order to reduce their risk of contracting severe outcomes due to COVID-19 infection.
